For most, the Christmas season is regarded as joyous, cheerful, and generous! Families get together to give each other gifts, watch football, and eat too much food. For some it is overwhelming, difficult, and hopeless acting as a reminder of how lonely life can be sometimes.
No matter where you are on your journey, God is inviting you Home for Christmas.
And Zion would like to help you get there!
This year, we have a few options for you. Some of the Zion staff and congregation members have gotten together to create an Advent Devotional. Each day leading up to Christmas has a devotional with a corresponding activity! If you'd like to participate in the activities, post to any major social media site and use the hashtag #zionfamilychristmas.
On December 17th, Zion will be hosting An Evening in December: A Christmas Cabaret. Several performers from Minneapolis and some local talent are teaming up to bring you some of their favorite Christmas tunes! This year, we are adding a photo booth! This photo booth is to take solo and family portraits while everyone is Home for Christmas!
And finally, Christmas Eve. Because Christmas Eve lands on a Sunday, there will be no morning services. Christmas and Easter are the two times a year people are more prone to attend a church service. Please, do not hesitate to invite people to a service as God invites us all Home for Christmas.
