weekly update

Hello ZKids Parents and Guardians!

It’s almost time for the PreZ and  ZKids Christmas Programs! Below are some important details and answers to questions you may have! PreZ and ZKids are TWO SEPARATE PROGRAMS. See below for the info that pertains to your kids.

PreZKids
Our preschoolers will be singing lots of songs they have been practicing!
Pre-Z Drop-off will open at 1:30 to Rooms A, B, or C. Please have kids there no later than 1:45. Doors will open to the Worship Center at 1:45 and the program will begin at 2:00. You may pick up your child in Rooms A, B, and C following the program. All parents must leave the Worship Center and will be allowed back in at 2:45 for the ZKids Program. Please do not save seats.
The following information below, does not pertain to preschoolers.

ZKids
We have been working on the program during ZKids so everyone is singing at least two songs, even if they did not register for another part in the program! See the video links if they would like to practice their songs.
I'm So Blessed: https://youtu.be/9gDDgF5RWaQ
Joy to the World: https://youtu.be/20oWWwRjzok

ZKids Drop-off will open at 2:30 and kids can go to Room D. Please have kids there no later than 2:45. Doors will open to the Worship Center at 2:45 and the program will begin at 3:00. You may pick up your child in Room D following the program.

Rehearsal:

December 10th at 10am in the Dock
This is for everyone that registered for a special part in the program. We will need all backstage crew members, dancers, actors, soloists and duets to attend! There will be a pizza party at 12 for those wanting to stay.

Cookie Decorating:
December 10th at 12:30pm in the Hub
Those that signed up to help with hospitality or anyone wanting to help, is welcome to come decorate Christmas cookies to be served at the program.  If you signed up for hospitality but cannot help decorate cookies, that is ok! We will still need hospitality on the day of the program! There will be a pizza party before cookie decorating at 12 for those wanting to attend.

Actors, K-1 Dancers, and 2-4 Dancers:
There will be volunteers assigned to help your kids change into costumes. Volunteers will make sure they get there so you can check them into Room D. We will have all their costumes ready for them. The costumes will remain the property of Zion. They do not need to bring anything special.

Final:
If your student is not ready to perform by Wednesday, December 7th, I will not allow them to perform on the 11th. I do not want a child embarrassed because they feel unprepared. If they are needing extra help, please let me know BEFORE the 7th.

THANK YOU, PARENTS AND GUARDIANS!!!

MONTHLY tHEME

CITY OF ANGELS: A 4-WEEK SERIES FROM THE GOSPELS ON CHRISTMAS

SERIES OVERVIEW:
Why are there so many Christmas songs about angels? Because angels show up all throughout the Christmas story with great news! In this four-week series, kids will explore the foundational stories of Jesus’ birth with a focus on the angels who were there to witness them! From the city where Jesus was born, to the cities we live in today, the angels’ message is just as important now as it was then! Jesus is God’s plan, calms our fears, makes everything new, and is God’s love for everyone.

WEEK 1
This  week,  kids  hear  about  how  an  angel  appeared  to  Zechariah and told him he would have a son.
BIG IDEA: Jesus is God’s plan.
BIBLE: Luke 1:5-25

WEEK 2
This  week,  kids  hear  about  how  an  angel  appeared  to  Mary and gave her wonderful and impossible news.
BIG IDEA: Jesus calms our fears.
BIBLE: Luke 1:26-38

WEEK 3
This  week,  kids  hear  about  how  an  angel  appeared  to  Joseph in a dream and told him about who Mary’s baby was.
BIG IDEA: Jesus makes everything new.
BIBLE: Matthew 1:18-25

WEEK 4
This week, kids hear about how angels appeared to the shepherds  and  told  them  the  good  news  about  Jesus’  birth!
BIG IDEA: Jesus is God’s love for everyone.
BIBLE: Luke 2:1-20

MEMORY VERSE:

"But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people’."
— Luke 2:10 (NIV)
