Maundy Thursday is celebrated during Holy Week to commemorate the last supper Jesus had with his disciples. It was during this supper that Jesus first offered communion in the form of bread and wine - asking his followers to partake and when they do to remember the sacrifice made.
This First Communion celebration is first offered in the form of a class. It is for anyone wanting to participate in communion, receiving the bread and wine, for the first time. There is no age limit or restriction.
The class is not required to receive communion at Zion, rather, it is an opportunity to learn more about what it is, why we celebrate, and how it changes us. Pastor Derek and Caleb will lead the class and then participants will partake in their first communion during the Maundy Thursday service. Participants in the class will also have the opportunity to serve the congregation during our time of communion.

ZKIDS ⦁ WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
PRESCHOOL - 5TH GRADE
BELONG: MIDWEEK MEAL (MWM) ⦁ GAME
MWM will be served at 5 for all children to come and enjoy supper together and with their families. Organized game related to the Bible Story or monthly theme.
BELIEVE: WORSHIP ⦁ LARGE GROUP ⦁ SMALL GROUP
ZKids worship is high energy, high volume and high engagement! Each month our children are taught a memory verse to reinforce the month's theme with weekly Bible Stories or concepts in Large Group. Small Groups gather to discuss and apply the lesson of the Bible Story. This groups are divided by grade and gender.
BECOME: MISSIONS
Every fourth Wednesday of the month we will have a missional component for children to serve.

HYPE Disciples (4th & 5th Grade) during our 9 & 10:45 AM service meets as a small group to connect on a deeper level and participate with their small groups following the church-wide MCG format including a monthly mission project!

To help with this, we have HYPE DISCIPLES on Sunday morning during Kid's Church. This is created for our students to take a deeper dive into the weekly lesson and be a safe space for students to ask the hard questions! If you have a 4th or 5th grader who is interested in joining us, let us know!

Meet the team
CALEB PRATT
Children's Ministry Interim Director
Grew up in Minnesota and loves spending time outdoors. He enjoys running ultra marathons, mission trips, getting lost in the mountains, coffee and pancakes! Caleb has worked in a variety of different ministries in Minnesota, North Dakota, California, and Ireland. He is super excited to be at Zion and looks forward to teaching kids about Jesus and seeing them go deeper in their faith.
