Missional COmmunity GroupS & alpha

Missional COmmunity Group (MCG)

We believe God designed us to be dependent upon Him and inter-dependent on one another. We want to create space to foster relationships where we can become like Jesus: where we can challenge one another to radically follow God and love one another with abundant grace. At Zion, Missional Community Groups (MCGs) are our primary method of discipleship for adults. MCGs focus on three components: Spiritual Formation, Community, and Mission.

Click below to access the weekly Sermon Discussion Guide, pick up a copy in either the Dock or Zion on 4th Lobby, or access the guide on the Zion Clear Lake app. The guides are updated as early as Thursdays. If your group meets after that, find the correct guide under "Last Week's" link.

the purpose driven life group • wednesdays starting april 19th to may 31st • 5:30pm-6:30pm

Using the Missional Community Group Sermon Discussion Guide, this group will discuss the Purpose Driven Life book during the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign. Attendees should purchase the book (available in either building's lobby) and read the devotionals along with the group.

This is a great group for people who are not yet connected into a Missional Community Group or are looking for some community.

summer worship nights at the chapel • 7pm

june 13th • july 11th • august 8th

Harvest, Open Bible, and Zion are coming together to collaborate for three nights of worship and prayer this summer! Join us outdoors at the Zion Roadside Chapel at 710 S. 24th St., Clear Lake, for an evening of smores, prayer, and worship! God is good and is worthy of our worship! What a privilege that we get to worship God together, as the body of Christ, without the hindrance of building walls. We believe that what unites us is infinitely greater than what divides us. These will be powerful nights as we unite together to declare the goodness of our God! God is moving and stirring in Clear Lake!

In the event of inclement weather, worship nights will be held at The Dock - 500 Main Ave.

OUT: MISSION

MISSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO LOVE THIS CITY

love this city • the purpose driven outreach

As part of our 40 Days of Purpose, we want to take one day to do a churchwide, all-hands-on-deck, saturation to Love This City! Save the date for June 3rd 9am to 1pm when we will go out and serve North Iowa with several missional components! Some of the ideas that we're working on: Chapel Cleanup, Cook and serve a meal at the Community Kitchen,  Visit shut-ins, Complete projects at homeless shelters and at the Caring Pregnancy Center, Do a laundromat ministry, Provide respite for Single Parents, Free Grocery Drive-Thru, Serve One Vision, Serve the City of Clear Lake, Visit inmates at the Cerro Gordo Jail, Offer business and career help (like resume and interview assistance), and Offer an English as a Second Language Course.

By the way, these are just ideas! If you're interested in leading a particular mission or feel led to offer a completely different mission than what's listed above, let us know! And help us by joining us in prayer today!

celebrate recovery meals

We are looking for a handful of people who are willing to prepare a meal for our Celebrate Recovery ministry. This meal blesses 30-40 people each Thursday with nourishment and provides a place for fellowship to occur around the table.

If you (or your group) are willing to provide a meal once per month on a rotating basis, that would an enormous blessing to the ministry! We would also gladly accept freezer meals that we can pull out and cook ourselves!

At CR, we say that if church is the hospital, CR is the ER! It takes many people to provide the love and support to this hurting community of people! Join us in ministering to them!
