LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF

The Lutheran World Relief Kits help people coping with poverty, disaster, conflict and more. Whether a kit helps someone maintain good hygiene, care well for a newborn baby, keep education going during a crisis, or learn a new vocation, LWR Kits provide dignity and hope in the direst situations.

We collect kit donations each year, typically August through October: personal care kits, baby care kits, school kits and fabric kits. Last year, Zion members packed 65 personal care kits, 40 school kits, 12 baby care kits, and 17 fabric kits. To learn about what to include and how to pack the kit, click the link below.

Zion Lutheran Church women

The women of Zion have been active in ministry since 1889, growing from a $33.45 treasury into a ministry that reaches Clear Lake and the world. In 2025, Do-Day Quilters made 228 quilts for Lutheran World Relief, and Zion women gave hundreds of care kits, soap, and shoe boxes to people near and far. Join us as we make a difference in hearts across the globe.

The Zion Women also have organized Circles, small groups that meet once a month for a study and assist with various needs throughout the church. Email the office at info@zionclearlake.org to get involved. Meeting times are below.

DO-DAY QUILTERS

Do-Day Quilters meet every Wednesday morning to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief and camps and ministries close to home. In 2025, this group made 228 quilts now warming people around the world.

Do-Day Quilters is a branch of Zion Lutheran Church Women, a ministry that goes back to 1889 and still carries that same spirit of steady, quiet giving.

Zion• Clear Lake also hosts Blanket Sunday throughout the year to help cover shipping costs. Last year's collection came to $818, enough to get quilts from Clear Lake to wherever they're needed next.

Zion Choir

Every Tuesday • 4:30pm • Choir Room (Sept-May)

The Zion Choir sings during many of our traditional services, providing special music that brings depth and beauty to worship. The choir rehearses during the school year and takes summers off, picking back up each fall.

Join us at 4:30pm on Tuesday nights in the upstairs choir room at Zion on 4th. No audition is needed, just a willingness to sing. The choir performs about once a month during the traditional service, and you'll also hear them singing carols each year at Christmas by the Lake. All are welcome!
