MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Traditional Service prep including Lent, Advent, Thanksgiving Eve services.
- Work with/alongside the Traditional Service Team to ensure everything is ready for services.
- Prep for sermon. Sermon should follow the church wide Sermon Series and vision provided by the Lead Pastor.
- Fellowship after services.
- Work with Pastoral Care Coordinator to assist with home, hospital, and care center visits as needed. Provide communion when appropriate. Phone calls to congregation members/attendees as needed.
- Visit ongoing ministries at Zion including the Quilters, Circles, Prayer shawl ministry, Brotherhood/Sisterhood, etc.
- Encourage church-wide event attendance.
- Attend Elderberries once per month.
- Funerals and weddings as requested/assigned.
- Organize special services when needed.
ADDITIONAL:
- Work scheduled hours, communicate to the Executive Director when you can’t be to work/meetings on time, appointments, vacation and sick days.
- Check/Respond to emails/texts/phone calls.
- Attend scheduled meetings, department meetings, and staff meetings and exemplify staff core values.
- Communicate when you need help or training.
- Worship. read books, podcasts etc. to grow as a leader.
- Vision casting, planning and praying for ministry.
- Attend all church functions, worship services, and meetings as requested by the Executive Team
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Pastoral licensure/ordination preferred.
- Experience in ministry is a plus.
- Proficiency in liturgy, occasional services and service structure, and the Lutheran Book of Worship is a plus.
