Missionary Update: Susan Blaha Summer 2026

My calling these days is to make myself available, make connections and share the restoring power of Jesus Christ. I reach out daily to many in recovery to encourage them on their path. It is a very powerful way to start the day with a few words of encouragement. It is a blessing to offer a ride to appointments, class, or for a coffee and catch up on what is working well and what needs to be addressed.

Josiah’s Place has been thriving recently as 2 of the men are working full time and another is headed back to NIACC for his CNA. They have their footing and will soon be approaching “move out” phase. It is amazing to see this transition and their growth as they continue their path of sobriety. We continue to have Monday night “Family Dinner” and the men have enjoyed having congregation members bring in meals.

The women at Rachel’s Place have just recently started a Step Study with me and it is very beneficial to get to know one another on a deeper level. They also assist me every Thursday as we set up for CR. My initial Step Study is also still meeting and digging even further in “Moving Forward in God’s Grace.”

The first Tuesday of the month we continue to go and speak with the woman at Prairie Ridge to share with them about the healing power of Jesus Christ and the freedom that it offers. The Celebrate Recovery community gives them a safe place to enjoy a meal, conversation, live worship music, a lesson, and small group sharing while showing them the love of Jesus.

If you have a heart for children and have a passion for breaking the cycle of dysfunction in families, please reach out as we will have “CR for Kids” new curriculum coming out at the end of July and are working to provide programming for the kids that attend CR.
